RHEINHESSEN
(Angl. Rhinehesse). An important wine district of the left bank of the river, which produces a large quantity of Hocks than any other, some being very fine and other only fair in quality. The best known wines of Rhinehesse are those of Niersteiner and Liebfraumilch.
