RHEINGAU
(Angl. Rhinegau). The vine-clad hills, on the right bank of the Rhine, opposite Bingen, from Rudesheim to Hochheim, which produce the finest Hocks. The best wines of the Rheingau are those of Johannisberg, Steinberg, Volrads, Rudesheim, Geisenheim, Winkel, Mittelheim, Oestrich, Hattenheim, Marcobrunnen, Erbach, Eltville and Rauenthal.
